109 locs!

I did a loc count. well.. more like a "Clip Count because i segregated the clips that were left in my bowl from the ones that were in my hair after I had did them, and...well.... i just counted the clips. I now (lets make it official)

I NOW HAVE......

Drum Roll Please! *drumdrumdrumdrumsnaresnaresnaresnaredrumdrumdrum*

....109 LOCS!

*Applause and Cheers*

Thank You! Thank You!

This is a momentus occasion lol. (no not really) but it is nice to keep track incase some person later on down the road in life asks me how many locs I have. Maybe a kid or curious person. and I'd smile and say proudly "109!"

I'm happy. I'm 10 months in...im crochet locking. I cant call it latching because I dont have a latch hook, I have a CROCHET NEEDLE, lol, which does basically the same thing. You just have to use it right and try to get past the tiring moments when the darn thing would snag your roots and you fight to remove it lol.

My ends are still poofy. I think thats because of my lack of palm-rolling. I started my locs with BACK-COMBING which was waaaay faster for locking my hair. Two-strands would just come undone. after back-combing, my hair looked like locks and then a month later they went through that whole phase of hideous hair that made me want to take 'em down. I'm glad I didnt though because this is a learning experience and after going through the transition from the BC to natural, I probably would have ran back to the crack.

PICS!

Affects of Interlocking:

I dont particularly like the large amount of spaces interlocking gives. I'm thinking about freeforming or letting my roots grow out some because i hate all that space, but the interlocking keeps the lock in its "defined lines" and makes sure that it stays in those lil squares. but it also cleans up the spaces!

Dyed ends:

The Back:

THREAD! since my hair is tvery thin (all over) especially in the front, one of my baby locs broke so i had gotten some thread (the darkest color we had was red. it was either that or walk around with white or sea green thread in my loc. So i chose that red. Can you see it? I had to interlock the loc that i re-threaded with another nearby one to thicken it. That's why its twisted like that.

You have a lot of length!!! I just picked all my Locs out and went back to a Relaxer for style reasons and out of boredom with my Locs and Natural hair. Did you just take down your Loc out of curiosity? I cant believe how many people still think you have to cut off Locs to start over!!! You have really pretty eyes Be Blessed!!!

yes, I did take that one down out of curiosity now it seems even harder to get to loc again lol. I have very soft, thin, straight/curly hair. people say i have "indian in my family" type hair. so I have to back-comb to get it to "Start" locking. - its crazy!
