The Start of Naturality (Twist-Out Adventures!)

In June of '05 I had went from a straight, permed wreckage to dreads. Now, because my hair is curly, not quite nappy and not quite straight (Indian in my family?) it took about 3 or 4 months for my hair to 'start' locking. For a while i was pleased and it had begun to grow but maintaining it and finding someone to care for it regularly (when you're low on funds) was impossible.

So in October of 2006, my dreads, conforming into the shape of a 'mop' and not quite to my shoulders although certain locks in the back of my head had touched the back of my neck, i had officially cut them off. They were litterally too much work for impatient ol' me.

By March of 2007, I had started to regrow a full, healthy, Afro.

My hair has been growing since i last cut it in October '06, so it's been a full year and i'm able to do twists. These were taken in July/August.

Fastforward to now: October 2007.

Dying my hair last night (Oct 25, 07) a deep burgundy color, the twists look amazing and i'm able to pull enough back to form a 'tail at the top of my head and let the rest hang down. I'm in love with this look and I'm planning to go with this for a while.
